Just like human, beagle pregnancy demand attention and care of pet owners. Any sudden change in behavior of the beagle must be noticed by the pet owner and must be given immediate attention.

Here are some signs to watch out for if your beagle is pregnant:

1. Your dog is preparing for the arrival of her puppies. This can be seen when your dog is piling up on articles that are necessary to make her place of delivery safe for her puppies. Such articles include paper, cardboard and old blankets.
2. Your dog is restless. It can’t stay in one place. It moves from one place to another. Scratching and braking have been frequent.
3. You dog gains weight. Beagles usually give birth to a few puppies. It is only natural that its weight increases as the puppies inside develops.
4. Your dog’s mammary glands and abdomen swell. As mentioned earlier, the puppies inside your dog develops. It causes physical change in your dog. It is evident in its abdomen since it is where the puppies are located. The mammary glands enlarge too due to the change of hormones in your dogs which goes with the pregnancy.

Beagle pregnancy is an exciting phase for you and your dog. Still, the best way to know that your beagle is soon to have puppies is to have it tested by a veterinarian. There are instances where certain symptoms are confused with pregnancy that why a visit to the veterinarian is the best guarantee of beagle pregnancy.
