We love it when our dogs learn new tricks, but there are dogs that are really a bit hard to train. A beagle, for example, is naturally stubborn a breed. According to history, they were meant for hunting and they have a strong sense of smell, thus using them nowadays as sniffing dogs. This is the reason why they easily lose focus every time they sense something else. Although they are friendly and gentle, you might lose control when trying to train them.

If you are serious about training beagles, you should first practice patience or you will be wasting your efforts when you happen to stop short. Training beagles is really a tedious task but once you know how it is done, you and your beagle can successfully sweep others in dog shows, if you intend to join one. There are a few tricks that you can apply to make them learn.

• A walk outside every morning or as often as possible is advisable so he can get used to the outdoors. After, it’s where you will be spending a lot of time teaching him tricks.
• Beagles love pleasing his master. It would help if every time he has perfectly done something you taught, let him know that you are proud of him and happy. Praise him by a passionately caressing his body.
• Set the training hours so he can get used to it. You have to be consistent about the task while making him recognize you as the boss.

Or, you can enroll your beagle in an obedience class to make your training days more pleasurable. This will save you some headaches and frustration.
